Tiger band should stay home. They are so stale and bad. Haven’t played anything new in 50 years? Same old obnoxious “first down” and “defense” ditties over and over. Don’t know who wrote those little ditties but it sure wasn’t Bach, Beethoven or Mozart. They are so juvenile and bad. And lastly, our band just will not shut up. They are borderline embarrassing. Can we not find a new band director with some fresh ideas?

Tiger Band is integral to Clemson football.
I support CUTBA and recently received an email that contained this information about The Band that Shakes the Southland:
Tiger Band Recognized by National Association
Earlier this year, Tiger Band Directors Mark Spede and Timothy Hurlburt traveled to Tempe, Arizona to present the video of last year’s “The Greatest Showman” halftime performance at the College Band Directors National Association’s national conference.
Tiger Band was only one of five college bands to have their performances selected by a jury of peers for this prestigious honor, along with the bands from Arizona State, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Texas State. It was the third time that Tiger Band was recognized in this way nationally, in addition to two other regional recognitions during previous seasons.
One of the Most Recognized College Marching Bands
Over the last several years, Tiger Band has garnered a number of regional and national recognitions. It may be more obvious that the band has grown over the last decade (from 200 to 355), but the excellence of the group has as well. That is not just us saying it … it is ESPN, CBS, and other college band directors.
In 2009, ESPN invited Tiger Band and six other top college bands to perform the theme from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” for a web contest. Other bands were Florida, Georgia, Louisiana State, Southern California, and Texas.
Then in 2010, CBS held an open contest promoting its new take on “Hawaii 5-0,” and 33 college bands participated. Tiger Band placed in the top three of both contests.
The College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) began a juried process in 2007 to recognize college marching bands at national and regional conferences. Tiger Band was in the first group of five to be recognized that year in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In 2008, the band was recognized again at the Southern Division CBDNA conference. After a period of ineligibility (four years must pass once a band has been recognized), Tiger Band again placed in the top five for inclusion at the national conference in Seattle, Washington in 2011.
A year later, the band was once again in the top five at the regional conference in Kennesaw, Georgia. Tiger Band is the most selected college marching band in the country for this CBDNA award.

Ha. Well they have "safe zones" on lotsa campuses nowadays for these entitled little wieners so maybe they could just put one in that end zone and no matter if it's the indignity of being assaulted by players jumping up and down or the utter terror of an aggressing marching band, they could have a place to hide.
