I was sitting at the Camp Rd./ Folly Rd. Intersection Sunday afternoon and the 4 cars in front of me had Illinois/Ohio/New Jersey and Connecticut license plates.

I remember as a teenager heading to Folly Beach during rush hour home ...and the traffic was a 3rd the volume it is now , some 30 years on .
It's a really wonderful town been mobbed and suffocated .
Thinking you're right . Outlook is minimally positive .

I blame Conde Nast and other tourism magazines .
Since 2000 , Charleston has been run out on the catwalk like a vixen in heels .
The old girl just isn't set up for the crushing erds descending on her weekly now .
Maybe we could start our own campaign to make Columbia the new " IT " destination in the state .

It's a conglomerate of causes, we had an easily solveable issue 15/20 years ago. But continually pumping all the city's money into downtown only not updating the rest of the city, infrastructure, roads, police force, fire, school board, and so much more was a huge mistake

I counted 6 deer that were killed off of Glenn McConnell during March of this year. I'm seriously thinking about moving to NZ or Australia.

No but it used to . My tugs been in NYC since 2011. Fly or drive back and forth.
Used to work for Steven's Towing ...probably who's boats you're seeing there.

No. I trade currencies full-time so I can live anywhere there's a high speed internet connection. There's no other place that I'd care to live other than Charleston. However, everything that made Charleston so nice is gone.

I grew up in Mt. P when there were 20,000 residents. Now there are 80-90,000. My parents an grandparents remember when it was farm land. The roads just can't handle the volume and population growth. It is a log jam all day long throughout metro CHS. And don't get me started on the beaches.
CHS is done unfortunately.
