Pete Van Wieren has died.

Following a long bout with lymphoma. He was 69.

The Professor was one of the Braves' signature broadcasting voices, along with Skip Caray and Ernie Johnson, from 1976 to 2008.

None of Van Wieren, Caray, or Johnson have received the Ford C. Frick award, and de facto Hall of Fame status. The award would now be posthumous for all three.
