Don’t need weights or numbers on the machines to compare either, everyone is a winner at lifting nothing with nothing.
Don’t judge or spot anyone because it’s all light weight, 1 more or 50 more, it doesn’t matter.

without the scales, there is no way to confirm that these chicks are indeed fat. And I think that is the point, consider this a rebranding for planet fatness.

Gyms work better if they are judgment full zones. I want to feel fat, so that I don’t want to be fat.

A Planet Fitness opened a mile from my house and I've been going there for about 2.5 years now. I always found the "judgement free/no lunks" marketing a little odd, but only recently became aware that some people seem to hate them for it.
I was in decent shape when I started going there and have gotten stronger and in better overall shape since. There's plenty of weight for this middle aged man to lift...I'm never going to max it all out. I see all kinds there...some really buff guys and gals, a lot of people like me who are pretty fit but not body builders, and some folks who really need to work out more...but probably won't. I never noticed whether there were scales or not, but I'm probably going later this morning so I'll check. I never weigh myself anyway, but I do like flexing in the mirrors occasionally - ha!

I remember Planet Fitness was like any other gym before its current incarnation. Someone told me they are going after a certain niche while purposely excluding high intensity gym users like heavy weightlifters through soft bigotry. Lifting heavy weights incur wear and tear cost on equipment so they want to discourage those who do.
