Mom Celebrated B.D. #101 yesterday!!!!

We had her an Orange and White sheet cake with "Happy 101" on it and a small party for whomecver came by... We also had a paddle made that said "Lena is 101... don't paddle her, but just sign the paddle".
Some of her church friends came in to see her, and one is a staunch Coot Fan. She hadn't been in to see Mom since last year, and when she saw Mom's "100 and counting--All In" embroidered, framed Tiger Rag signed by Dabo, she said she wanted to rip it off the wall.
Even though Mom is pretty deaf(she does have a hearing aid), she told her to "leave her gift alone!!!"

Her eyesight is not too good and has trouble seeing my android Phone. The internet is something she totally does not understand and how we communicate via text, e-mail, etc. She is fine having a telephone that amplifies incoming sounds.

Thought my Mother would reach 87 but Alzheimer took her out at 87 1/2.
The Girl went to Easy Teasy in Greenville NC (now called ECU) but loved the tiGERS ..seeing umpteen games, including ND in 1977, Chapel Hill couple times, the SC game at Clemson to witness The Catch to win by FG...
And couple Chick games..including one vs Miss St where she lost her hearing for days due to their criminal bell ringing!

Probably caused a lot of deafness over the years. Sorry to hear you lost your mom at 87 due to Alzheimer's, but glad she made it to 87.

That has to be awesome just say my mom is 101 today. You and your family were lucky to have her past 80 with all the cancer taking people these days. So y'all have been really blessed to have the one that brought you into this world to be with you most of your life. At 101, happy B day to her, and God has blessed her!!!
