Is Brent Venables the best coordinator we've ever had?

Interested in reading other opinions, that's all.

True. With the talent leaving we will know more this time next year. Not very familiar with coordinators from the 80's and prior.

best since Tom Harper

Harper virtually created what we know as "Clemson Defense". Created the Bandit end with Headen, blitzing all over the field, and most importantly the nasty mindset. The guys we had in late '80s were good too but they had some of the best college athletes in the nation to coordinate. Back then our D were the best athletes on the team. 1988 to 1991 defenses were so loaded it was comical.

I've got to put Mickey Andrews in that lotto.

Tom Harper and Brother Oliver were pretty tough to beat.

If BV sustains this for several years, he will be in their company......Go Tigers!

BV is just as good!

This defense is nasty

Best I have seen since the Danny Ford years. Hopefully we can remain consistent like he was. Next year will tell all, with us losing our entire defensive front. Hes a great coach and I have faith that he has those guys coached up well enough to take over the reins nexxt year. I just dont want people to expect him to produce another #1 d next year...It will take time to reload, but I trust him completely.

I'll tell you at the end of next season after I see how the defense does after all of those losses.
