I truly feel college football is in a downward spiral

Things such as a rolling national Signing day, now the open transfer rule, very few really good games each year, players sitting out bowl games, etc it just doesn’t feel the same anymore.
I was reading the other day a quote that said “ every coach is in some way positioning themselves to go to the NFL”.
Just doesn’t move the needle for me like it has to

Nothing stays the way it was and when people's lives are ruled by social media and smart phones, normal is a relative term.

Money ruins everything eventually. Everyone is making too much. Players want their share. TV contracts. They tell us what day and time we’re going to play, the hell with the fans. Just not a sustainable formula.

but we have known for over 20 years that an asteroid will wipe out all life on the earth in 2027. This why nobody in power cares about the debt, climate change, or the transfer portal. Enjoy your life, I will spare you the exact date.

Is this the great surprise NJDEV has been teasing about. Thanks for spoiling it Tbalm. If this is true, Dabo definitely needs to forget the whole culture thing at Clemson and go full bore on the transfer portal opportunities. Good heads up T!!!

Sorry to hear it.
Do you any suggestions on how to go about improving it, or are you just complaining?

steps that may help....

1. No reduced entrance requirements for scholarship athletes and eliminate the super soft majors set up just for such folks.
2. Reduce practice to 3 times week (max 2-3 hours each) and then game day. Athletes also need time for college experience (and studies).
3. Force NFL to open minor leagues where gifted can go and play for individual contracts and full professional status right out of HS or at anytime.
4. We end up w/ teams of 11 players like Hunter Renfrow (who had to walk on), and we may get 40,000 fans rather than 80,000 and national TV, but it will still feel be full of spirit.
5. Maximum 1 transfer without 1 year sit out.
