Selling Miller Light and Coors Light at Death Valley

Jan 26, 2018, 1:26 PM

Would not qualify as selling beer, it would constitute only selling overpriced carbonated water flavored with some malt and hops. Bring in some good import Hefeweizen or a nice mid-IBU IPA and then we can talk beer at Clemson.

A. Busch and Miller-Coors are selling snake oil.

Once you acquire a taste for IPA'S you can't go back to Coors or any other regular beer.

Talk about two ends of the spectrum. If you have only had water (light beer) everything else is too strong but once your taste buds are ruined by IPAs you can't tell the difference in that and good beer.

A wide variety of beer on the market to not fall into either of these camps.

Completely false, I used to almost exclusively drink IPAs and now I can't stand them.

Agree totally, anything with Light ( specially Natty) is not beer. Beer should be bold, have a higher alcohol % taste more than beer flavored water. I do not drink light beer, do not eat low fat ice cream and would never touch low fat mayo. To heck with my cariologists recommendations, one never wants it on their tomb stone- Gee I wish I swapped out good stuff for dookie!

Jan 26, 2018, 2:22 PM

It is astounding to me that folks are snobbish about taste preferences in food and beverages.

It is OK with me if you like IPAs, Miller Lite, Hopslam, Coors, Cigar City, PBR, Bud Lime, Guinness or home brew....

Sushi, vegan, Spam, the finest steaks and wine, food truck burritos, Chilean Sea Bass or mullet...

Bern’s Steak House or the Waffle House.....

Folks should be able to eat and drink what they like without bringing down some epic judgement.

God to Bubba - “Sorry son- no chance. Remember that Chardonnay you had with those fresh boiled peanuts at that filling station in Americus Ga back in ‘82. Should have been a Billy Beer or a Cheer Wine.”

at my local growler pub at least once a week. However, don't knock my Millers. What else are you going to drink out on the lake when it's 90 degrees. Or how about those nights when you feel like having 6-8 beers while watching a game on tv.

I'm not partial to Coors, so you can knock it, but for the price, caloric, and taste considerations, you really cannot beat Miller Lite.

Jan 27, 2018, 12:19 AM

Most games its hot or very warm"ish" ... these beers are heavy and makes one prone to nausea. The "light" beers are what is known to beer snobs as "session beers". You can drink them in quantity over a a long period of time (the session) and the only consequence is going tinkle a lot and perhaps drunkiness ... good over a 3 hour period. I say sell Bud, Bud Light and Miller Light.

If they are going to start selling alcohol then there needs to be more of a selection. an IPA, Bud Light, Bud, Miller Light, Yeungling would be a good start. These are generally the selections available at pro sports events. Would love to see Newcastle Brown Ale made available but not likely.
