I know people are scared to lose Morris and some are worried

Sep 30, 2012, 7:11 PM

Arkansas might come calling, but if I were the Razorbacks I'm throwing $4-5 mil a year to Dana Holgerson. WVU won't matcht that and he'd be out of there in a heartbeat. Lots of stuff lacking at WVU, just ask Rich Rod. Until they solve that WVU will continue to be a stepping stone. Just my opinion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If they take Morris we should just go after Holgorsen...

Sep 30, 2012, 3:58 AM

if Dabo isn't able to keep winning with a new OC

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think with the embarrassment they've been through this

year Arkansas is gonna go all out and want to make a big splash.

Malzahn... if he agrees to keep his wife away from media.***

He's not off to a good start with a team picked to contend

Sep 30, 2012, 4:27 AM

for a Sun Belt title. 13 pts and a home loss to Western Kentucky wasn't impressive.

Sep 30, 2012, 4:44 AM

Arky will go after, and probably get, Charlie Strong. That fan base is tired of being able to score but not being able to stop anyone so the chances that they go after Malzhan or Morris are pretty slim.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That really didn't seem to be a problem under Petrino

Oct 1, 2012, 12:54 AM

His last 2 years were very good and I think a lot of Arkansas fans felt they could contend this year. Defense never really seemed to be an achilles heel. In fact it seemed they couldn't get over the hump against teams with really good defenses.

I'm more scared of losing games. What I am seeing is a mirror image of last year.

I will take another ten win season and trip to the orange...

Yes maybe. But they are stepping all over others right now....

I am not worried. We don't need people who are all about the

ego and money anyway. So if any coach wants to jump around to the highest bidder before even reaching the goal of NC then who cares

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Early favs appear to be Art Briles and Charlie Strong***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Arky will go after Charlie Strong or Butch Davis

Sep 30, 2012, 8:25 AM

i don't think thier fan base is going to accept a coach with zero experience at the college level much less having to navigate his way through the SEC

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who suggested a coach like that?***

and how did Rich Rod leaving WVU turn out?…..

Sep 30, 2012, 8:57 AM

he went to a school that hated his guts from the get go, and got fired after three seasons. Now he is at Arizona, which is light years behind WVU in football facilities.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well he made more money at Michigan and still is making

Oct 1, 2012, 1:12 AM

as much at Arizona than he did at WVU and just a little bit less per year than Holgerson even after Holgerson just signed and extension. And while Arizona's facilities aren't that great, WVU's aren't much better. In fact, Arizona is already well underway with $72 million worth of football facility upgrades that are set to be finished by the 2013 season, while WVU still hasn't even done anything promised back in the Rich Rod days. What does that tell you?

Plus, Rich Rod went to a place with a completely different identity and tried to change the culture which also required a different type of athlete. Arkansas is already set with the the players and athletes for an up-tempo, high octane offense like Holgerson's. Should be a seamless transition. Arkansas can also pay ALOT more than Michigan did to lure away Rich Rod. Holgerson's buyout is only $2 mil. Would seem like a no brainer to me!

Dabo or Morris

Sep 30, 2012, 10:45 AM

Morris will be a head coach. If not, it will cost us a bunch of money to keep him as a career assistant OR we will have to choose between Dabo and Morris. How important his Morris to our success? Is he more or less important than Dabo?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Dabo or Morris

Sep 30, 2012, 7:59 PM

morris is too good to be a career assistant. he is going to get his shot one day. the only questions are when it will come and how good of a situation it offers. wont be about money since yall pay him a ton already. it will be about the desire too see what he can accomplish as the head man. you cant blame him when he takes his shot.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Coach Morris isn't going anywhere for at least two more

Sep 30, 2012, 10:50 AM

years. He would not break his promise to his kids. Besides, he's not hurting for money at $1.3 million/yr and he's still young. There will be many, many years of $2-5 million/year as a HC for him in the future.

I think Morris is waiting on the Texas job.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You know some teams maybe looking at Dabo

Sep 30, 2012, 11:14 AM

You never know!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If Dabo leaves Clemson (and I don't think he will)

Sep 30, 2012, 7:48 PM

for another job, he stays in the South. I don't see Dabo in the Big 10, Pac 12 (or whatever number), or even the Big 12. I think he's at home in the Southeast. That being said, besides Bama where would go? What Southern job is better than Clemson?

I think some early candiates, in my opinion (no order)

Charlie Strong
Chad Morris
Dan Mullen
Chris Peterson

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't really understand the love fest with Charlie Strong

Oct 1, 2012, 1:18 AM

not that he's a bad coach, but he was 7-6 and 7-6. He's off to a good start record wise this year, but they really haven't played anyone and the last 3 games I watched (UNC, FIU, So Miss) weren't all that impressive. He may end up being a good one, but he hasn't done anything to show me he's a must get. Mullen almost the same thing. To me Holgerson is a much better get than any of those 4.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd rather Stoops get a head coaching job
