Can anyone think of another team that has fallen as much as the coots???

It is a great train wreck to watch. It just keeps getting better and better.

Oregon is doing a good impression.***

And, Notre Dame.

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

that's still only one year. I think Oregon is a maybe.

They went from a top 10 team to one of the worst teams in the country lol.

But these are teams who have won championships, or in ND's played for a natty one recently. Coots have NEVER been in the category. Best for them is the credit card bowl and getting blown out by Auburn in Atlanta.

So I humbly submit, the coots didn't have as far to fall as these more elite programs have.

Got to accomplish SOMETHING before you "fall". They have nothing to fall from.

Trump's election campaign team ??

Oct 10, 2016, 1:09 PM

They have to be getting close

Given Georgia's in state talent level and where they were,

Oct 10, 2016, 1:10 PM

they have fallen off a cliff. The state of Georgia is like fifth in the country in the number of division I football players produced per year per state. The SEC EAst is just sooooo bad that somebody has to win the game.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I doubt they will match what happened in 1998 and 1999 to

Oct 10, 2016, 1:11 PM

another Coots team. 0-21. Worst ever in the SEC.

some candidates: Texas, Auburn, ND

Oct 10, 2016, 1:11 PM

they haven't fallen quite as far as the Chickens have, but they were WAY above them too (playing for/winning National Championships, major bowl games, etc) just a few years ago.

Re: some candidates: Texas, Auburn, ND

The difference with Texas and Auburn is that they have young talent; four-five star players that haven't matured and/or have little game experience. USC doesn't even have the talent....it's just not there.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oregon with no offense and Texas with no defense.

Oct 10, 2016, 1:14 PM

Those are the two largest drop offs to me.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe Notre Dame & oregon . . . .***

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

1919 White Sox...

Oct 10, 2016, 2:32 PM

yeah, they were pretty low.

Fall or Resettle at the Bottom?

Oct 10, 2016, 2:56 PM

To put it in perspective, unless you were paying very close attention to who the maid of honor in the SEC east was for about 4 years, you would never have known them to be anything than slightly less than mediocre.

Re: Fall or Resettle at the Bottom?

Oct 10, 2016, 4:39 PM

Exactly. That grease fire of a program is basically a trash do-nothing inbred "family" that lives off the dole & they won the lottery there for a couple years, blew all their money to try and dress up the trash pile they wallow around in on the reg and convince people they were coming up in the world. Their program is garbage - has always been and will always be. Just because they put it in a scented glad bag of a has-been coach doesn't mean they're not still trash. Plenty of programs have fallen further because they never rose to any heights.

michigan State

Oct 10, 2016, 2:57 PM

That was a playoff team last year

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Its easy to fall quickly when the rise was a fluke anyway

Oct 10, 2016, 7:33 PM

The "success" was but a tiny blimp in an otherwise miserable history. Keep in mind this is a program that is barely .500 across a span of 130 years of playing the sport.
