What happened to Chad? The MVP of the Fiesta Bowl has no tackles in his last game as a Tiger? Did he play?

The Clemson brass decided to sit him out and also give Amari and Travis some well deserved rest. And Galloway was totally winded after he caught that early pass.

Jake Venables actually did OK after the targeting ejection.
Simmons played a river/hybrid safety/outside linebacker a lot.
With 6 or 7 defensive backs, no spot for Smith.
Not having Pinckney at nose tackle probably hurt more than no place for Smith in the scheme.

...a 5th year senior coming off the game of his life could have stepped in a little more smoothly after Skalski went out. Had to be a good reason though. I trust BV to make the calls.

You mean you don't believe the story that a child has dreams of playing in a college football national championship, works 10+ years to get there, is the MVP of the semi-final and then is forced to sit due to some SCHEME!? How can you not believe that story??

Exactly. Could not even find a play or two for him to participate in. Something smells fishy to me.

I'm willing to say there could have been a connection with Dabo's pre-game mood and knowing Chad would be kept out of the game. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but I do know he wasn't sat the entire game for a #### scheme. A scheme I might add that didn't even work. Burrow had zero fn pressure all game and we sit out BMP linebacker and call that a scheme.
