Can someone explain what an oversighn is?

Mar 18, 2017, 12:31 PM

I get the premise but does it mean that someone on the roster has to transfer or basically get shown the door for the recruit to get a scholarship?

for us it would mean a walk-on would not get a ship

Dabo gives out a couple walk-on scholarships a year. This year will be no different. At least 2 will get one. Adrien Dunn got one last year but didn't play much.

An oversign usually has to wait

When there are no more scholarships available,
they may greyshirt by paying their own way in
the fall and get a scholarship in the spring to
count towards the next years class.

Or a scholarship may open up after a transfer,
an academics casualty, or the coaches don't renew
someone's scholarship which are an annual renewal.
