The refs were bad all night and they were bad for both teams.

The most egregious of all was the offsides call on ND when our OLine stayed down. Why in the F was that play blown dead? That call literally took a TD away.

That would have been encroachment.

I dont think they called encroachment. I could be wrong about this, but even then I dont think encroachment is an automatic stoppage of play. I think it is the discretion of if the defensive player will have a good chance of hitting the quarterback freely.

I think that encroachment does stop the play.

I think the ref forgot to say "Unabated to the QB." My understanding is they blow the play dead in that case as to keep the QB from getting killed. Shorty should come in here and verify or clarify.

Contact with the OL is why the play was stopped.
