Since that one qb that was decent was there. I don't know his name because he retired before I could really watch and understand football.

Dan Marino. He was number one on the Tigers recruiting list and I thought we would get him but he chose those other felines. I remember the headlines on the old Clemson theatre ..... Marino we want you!
My Tigers have never beaten Pitt and until they do.... They have a right to boast. Unlike the Buckeyes

Tony Dorset was pretty good.
Their lineman were tough last year.
And, They helped us get focused for the second part of the season.
That is all.

Will be interesting to see what they can do under the new OC

Yup. Like we wouldn't celebrate that huge win if we were in their position. Clemson fans would be all over tnet and twitter talking about beating the national champs. Nothing wrong with Pitt beating their chests a little.

That dude should never be allowed on a field again at any level. That was just downright underhanded coot jealousy at its finest. At the end of the day I don't care because we won the national championship but it still makes me shake my head at the blatant dishonesty of this man. I still say we never should've put ourselves in a position where his officiating would affect the outcome. Hats off to Pitt. They played their hearts out but they were not on the same level as our guys last year and without the help of a chicken our streak in the Valley as well as against unranked opponents would have continued. At the end of the day this game woke our boys up and set us up for the national championship.

That dang shovel pass, we learned then used. I will say though that Conner is an all out warrior, cancer survivor and one tough dude to take down. Pitt's version of Gallman except heavier. Besides, game got team re-focused and went on to be legendary. Seems every position improved from that day forward, and Watson wasn't going to let that determine the season. If anything, that game made last year's team better and focused on the prize.

They were the only team last year to beat the national champs and they did it in Death Valley. Not an easy thing to do so I have no problem with them talking it up. Honestly, I dont think our team is in the right mental place to win the natty without that loss.

In fairness to them, they have a right to be a proud of what their team did. They: Beat the eventual National Camps on their home turf. Dosn't matter how, they won, aND I would take it too was the role reversed.
Also defeated the BIG 10 Champs, Penn St, a team that some felt should have made the playoffs. I personally think the Happy Valley Lions were tremendously over-rated, as was the entire Big 10, but perception matters, and how many other teams can say they beat two Conference/ National Champions? NothING to see here.

I was trying to sell my tickets and everyone I talked to said "It's just Pitt", I wondered to myself if the team had the same attitude. Worst officiating aside there was a sense that the team was looking past Pitt and it bit them, oh well, all is well that ends well.

I chuckled hearing their fans chant '2 and 0, 2 and 0' after the game. They certainly didn't expect to win, but supported their team and were rewarded for it. Kudos to Pitt...Connor was a beast and their game plan was stellar. Yeah, yeah, yeah...the calls are what they were, but the game was entertaining. And absolutely, if Clemson fans were in their shoes, we'd be the same way!

Before the Pitt game, we hadn't lost an ACC game since 2014 (GT), a home game since 2013 (FSU), and a game to an unranked team since 2011 (NCSU) and a 9 game overall winning streak. But looking back, we gladly traded all that for a national championship. I'm a Tim Bourret wanna be.

all it got them was a trip to the Pinstripe Bowl and a loss to Northwestern.
If Clemson and Pitt played ten times, Clemson would win 9 out of 10 especially if the game was officiated by unbiased refs.

I want to be the team that other teams stay excited abouy having beaten. That means we are good and relevant.
I'm still excited about having beaten Alabama. Usuc?...it was fun but just another day at the office now. Well, not really, I'm still enjoying the magnitude of that beatdown and their misery over it.
Go Tigers.

Fans of a team that beat an "also ran" don't have much to crow about. It's a compliment when any team can say they beat the Clemson Tigers. At 28 - 2 over the past two years, Pitt and Alabama are the only teams who have beaten the Tigers.

I wouldn't say that there is "Coot" in the Pitt fanbase
Aug 7, 2017, 5:43 AM
|
|
After all, nobody can be that delusional unless you are an actual Coot Fan. However, I do think that there were some Coots officiating that game. Actual South Carolina Alumni on the field looking to wreck a perfect season for the Tigers. After watching that game again, I watched several phantom calls come from nowhere. The officiating was ridiculous to say the least, and believe it or not PITT gained a minimum of two touch downs from that alone. In my honest opinion with Orange Tinted Lenses Removed, CLEMSON SHOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME!
