Pete's #4 (Como's Pete's) in Greenville closing this Friday

For you folks from Greenville, especially older people like myself from the Augusta Rd./Greenville High area, it's sad to hear that the Pete's on Augusta Rd. is closing for good this Friday. The property will be redeveloped.
I spent many a night hanging out in the parking lot, including the old Pete's on the other side of the parking lot from Como's. Will miss that as well as the burgers, onion rings, etc. Had a great time there in high school.

I go there sometimes when I am able to secure an Augusta Road area permit. Of course, I have to be on the other side of the tracks by 6:00 pm, so I am unable to comment on hanging around the parking lot after dark,

Will renovate the property into a bank branch. What could be more different than Pete’s than gigantic bank Chase opening a branch on Augusta Road.

It is sad to see these family owned restaurant’s closing. I have eaten at the Pete’s many times. Great food Great service an overall place to eat and hang out with friends.
Sorry to hear this news. Thank you for sharing.
Are they open for business tomorrow and Friday?? I would like to eat there one more time.

Over the past 50 years, I have had many great meals at Pete's #4. I still miss the old place and will remember it forever.

Oh no. Where am I gonna get a chili cheeseburger and half and half now? This was the best Pete’s by far. I will really miss it.

The Clock is still a hangout for people who were at WHHS in the 1970's, so lots of fun discussions about knee surgeries and who's retiring.  The kids have gone to Cookout the last few years.

There is still a Pete's on So. Church St. in Spartanburg, SC. Just hanging in there, and the neighborhood still supports it. The chili cheese still rocks.

Don't recall when the current store was built. Ate at the first location during the '64 and '65 school years when we could leave the GHS campus for lunch. There was also a Pete's on Pendleton St not far from the General Hospital we used for lunch as well. Regret to learn a longtime popular family owned restaurant is ending its run. Just checked to see if the Palmetto is still open. Appears the original owner and his son have kept it going. That and the Clock on Stone Ave in the 60s were also some of our cruising stops.
