Out of them which ones have a decent chance of adding another star?

Does anyone know the recruiting services update schedule? I can't find it anywhere. When do Rivals, ESPN, and 247 update their rankings?

What difference does it make if they are a three star or a four star? Guys like Bouleware, Leggett and Kendall Joseph were all three star recruits. I can name many others whe were three star guys who were outstanding at the college level

2 stars and 3 stars means that a consensus of recruiting agencies believe there are better. That's how graded processes work.

Each year there are something like 3600-3800 recruits

that actually get rated at all by recruiting services. Of this group of players, this is roughly the distribution by star rating.
5-star) 32-33 per year or less than 1% of all recruits
4-star) ~400 per year or roughly 11%
3-star) ~1400 per year or roughly 37-38%
2-star) ~1800+ per year or roughly half the entire class
So while you can always point to a handful of 3-star players that blew up late in their careers and played like 5-stars, you should really expect this considering there about 40x more of them than actual 5-star recruits.
Also, a 3-star rating doesn't mean a kid can't play. 3-star recruits, by definition, are FBS caliber players, but ones that are expected to either be career backups or require 2-3 years in the system to develop before becoming a starter. A lot of those 3-star kids that end up becoming great players make that leap as upperclassman whereas 5-star recruits are expected to be able to come in and make an immediate impact from the first day they step foot on campus as 18-year olds.

Don't worry about the number of stars. It's how the peg fits for us.

Not really worried about stars just curious what others thought of some of our 3 star kids.

Constantine as everyone else said.

He was the best LB at a rivals camp and they all but said in his evaluation after that he was underrated and would be bumped up. Spector also had a good showing at a rivals camp and they said that he could end up as a 4*. Lay is in camp this weekend and performed well in a rivals camp a few weeks back. He has the size and frame and if he can hone a few skills and prove he is a good pass catcher, he will move up too. Constantine is a surefire 4* and Spector and Lay are close to picking a star up too - good camp showings and a good senior season and it's within reach.

Coaches make mistakes and get fired often. That's why they have message boards.
