Thanks for the memories. Enjoyed the ads. I was a freshman at Clemson that year and remember the game.

Thanks for sharing. I use to collect old programs, still have a few. One page listed the last 10 years scores against Wake. They took 7 out of 10 between 1940-1950. Those were some lean years during the war. The art work on programs back then were great. Thanks again.

and i owned Business Interiors of Greenville and was hired to have custom draperies made & installed in his office.

Big imposing figure with his black hair but a very nice man. We talked football & Clemson, of course.

I liked when good players had nick names that were widely used. You dont see that so much now

Our biggest guy weighed 218. Six assistant coaches. How times have changed.

Interesting to see the players weights back then. WF's biggest was 230 and they had a couple more over 220.

Interesting to see several large building projects completed around that time. Also enjoyed seeing the ads. Most of the businesses have been long gone. Some of the notable names I remember such as Hales Jewelers, Keys Printing, RL Bryan still conducting business. Was surprised to see a Dillard's Sporting Goods currently in Anderson. Anyone know if JE Sirrine is still a going concern?
