The "new" Littlejohn: Who had the brilliant idea of putting

Dec 15, 2016, 7:41 PM

the team benches on the non-camera side. Instead of subs rushing to the scorer's table and all sorts of other drama, we get to see straight back chairs full of middle age guest pass recipients of the week. I thought the remodel was supposed to make for a more intense atmosphere. I think there are students behind Emily and Hank and the rest of the front row gang but who knows.

I guess I just don't get it. I know there are some things you can't change, but some things we go out of our way to screw up.

Have you actually been in it? I doubt it.

1. Don't knock it until you've been in it.

2. This remodeling was for PLAYERS & RECRUITS. Not selfish fans.

No, he's correct, it is a poor configuration. But easily

Dec 15, 2016, 7:52 PM

fixed if the AD would watch a game on TV and yes, I've been to two games. It will be obvious once the big games start like UNC in a few weeks. Students behind the old folks will look silly to all.

Students are on the floor at the ends of the court.

The Littlejohn remodel was paid for by those people in the courtside seats.

Behind the benches are reserved for the visiting team and guests of our basketball team.

President Clements was one of those middle age adults last night.

Those courtside seats are paid for with big dollars to the athletic department to sit there.

Get off your wallet and you could sit there too.

Just put them on the other side of the court. Not in front

of the students. It would help the atmosphere for big games.

That's not what we should be showing on camera side. A

TV sees fans more prominently now. Duke and others use the same setup. Judging by your tiger pulse you should be at your wimmens basketball game tonight.

Things can be improved, but complete information on why things are the way they are is an integral part of change.

Duke students being held back by a wall is very different

from middle-aged guest-pass fans in straight back chairs that must behave.

Always thought something was odd and that is it, glad you

Dec 15, 2016, 8:09 PM

pointed it out.

Would much rather see the benches, subs, and coaches yelling at the refs.

The people in those seats are requested to have some decorum towards the officials.

YELLING IS FINE!!!

At least your consistent. Consistently miserable, critical, and negative. What a life you must have.

If you watch GA Tech at home, it's the same way. Gee, wonder why?

Also, Duke and Cameron are similar except no fogies on front row.

Consistently looking to make an improvement to something

Dec 15, 2016, 9:17 PM [ in reply to Re: The "new" Littlejohn: Who had the brilliant idea of putting ]

that needs it. If nobody urged change, we'd be watching games broadcast from Fike Field House.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is your concern the camera angle?

Dec 15, 2016, 8:21 PM

Facing the benches would be a better camera angle to me, too.

Thought the same thing and agree.

Dec 15, 2016, 8:49 PM

I can't imagine it would be too hard to change that?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The TV cameras should show excited, enthusiastic fans

Dec 15, 2016, 8:58 PM

Those sideline bleachers specifically installed for the students should be what the camera shows and the team benches should be in front of the student section.

It's known as creating a home court advantage and showing it to the viewing audience.

We're blowing it right now.

Old and in the Way

Dec 15, 2016, 9:23 PM

Gold will turn to gray and youth will fade away.

They'll never care about you, cause you're old and in the way.

My feelings are hurt.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I know you'e joking, but I'm older than, or as old as the

Dec 15, 2016, 9:34 PM

people I'm talking about. I am a huge fan of the older generations. I think they deserve more respect than anyone. I love going places with aunts, uncles, parents and friends that are even older than my old self. But I just don't get why they took a handful of older fans and sat them in single straight back chairs right there front and center. I just don't get the arrangement. I guess I would feel the same way if they selected 12 to 14 of our students and sat them there in those single chairs. I just don't get it.

But let me say sincerely, I love old people and thank God for them. I especially love our older fans with the deep pockets that keep Clemson strong.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That was my idea

Dec 15, 2016, 9:35 PM

you're welcome :)
