My comprehensive stats comparing CU and tOSU

I compared our stats and rankings with ten of our opponents stats and rankings against OSU stats and rankings with their opponents stats and rankings. I didn't include the Citadel with our other opponents because they're in a different sub-division. I could only find six opponents for OSU, so I had to make do with those teams. For kicks and giggles, I added the top six opponents per Sagarin ranking and stats in parenthesis.
Total Offense OSU is ranked #6 at 529 YPG against opponents Total Defense average ranking of #48 at 377 YPG CU is ranked #10 at 508 YPG against opponents Total Defense average ranking of #73 at 411 YPG (#56 at 387)
Rushing Offense OSU is ranked #5 at 276 YPG against opponents Rushing Defense average ranking of #57 at 159 YPG CU is ranked #65 at 164 YPG against opponents Rushing Defense average ranking of #60 at 158 YPG (#49 at 145)
Passing Offense OSU is ranked #42 at 254 YPG against opponents Passing Defense average ranking of #49 at 218 YPG CU is ranked #7 at 344 YPG against opponents Passing Defense average ranking of #88 at 253 YPG (#78 at 243)
Total Defense OSU is ranked #34 at 358 YPG against opponents Total Offense average ranking of #86 at 386 YPG CU is ranked #6 at 299 YPG against opponents Total Offense average ranking of #55 at 406 YPG (#39 at 433)
Rushing Defense OSU is ranked #7 at 97 YPG against opponents Rushing Offense average ranking of #80 at 145 YPG CU is ranked #9 at 100 YPG against opponents Rushing Offense average ranking of #64 at 168 YPG (#48 at 188)
Passing Defense OSU is ranked #104 at 261 YPG against opponents Passing Offense average ranking of #72 at 221 YPG CU is ranked #27 at 199 YPG against opponents Passing Offense average ranking of #57 at 239 YPG (#51 at 245)
Scoring Offense OSU is ranked #7 at 43 PPG against opponents Scoring Defense average ranking of #55 at 27 PPG CU is ranked #3 at 45 PPG against opponents Scoring Defense average ranking of #60 at 28 PPG (#45 at 26)
Scoring Defense OSU is ranked #25 at 21 PPG against opponents Scoring Offense average ranking of #84 at 25 PPG CU is ranked #11 at 18 PPG against opponents Scoring Offense average ranking of #52 at 30 PPG (#32 at 34)
Sacks By OSU is ranked #25 at 2.8 SPG against opponents Sacks Allowed average ranking of #58 at 2.1 SPG CU is ranked #4 at 4.0 SPG against opponents Sacks Allowed average ranking of #79 at 2.5 SPG (#77 at 2.5)
Sacks Allowed OSU is ranked #104 at 3.0 SPG against opponents Sacks By average ranking of #67 at 2.2 SPG CU is ranked #31 at 1.6 SPG against opponents Sacks By average ranking of #37 at 2.8 SPG (#29 at 3.0)
Tackles For Loss By OSU is ranked #67 at 6.0 TFL against opponents TFL Allowed average ranking of #74 at 6.4 TFL CU is ranked #3 at 9.4 TFL against opponents TFL Allowed average ranking of #78 at 6.6 SPG (#82 at 6.7)
Tackles For Loss Allowed OSU is ranked #87 at 6.8 TFL against opponents TFL By average ranking of #47 at 6.6 TFL CU is ranked #46 at 5.5 TFL against opponents TFL By average ranking of #34 at 7.3 TFL (#16 at 8.0)
What this shows me is that OSU has a distinct statistical advantage in rushing offense.
We have a distinct statistical advantage in passing offense, passing defense, sacks by, sacks allowed, TFL and TFL allowed.
Without injuries, turnovers or a plethora of stupid penalties, we should be victorious.
Good Bye 2020 and Go Tigers!

Good comparison. Tigers would have better defensive numbers if several key players had not missed playin a number of big games. I suspect the kicking game favors the Tigers also.
Like every game——- move the chains and DONT turn the ball over.

However, with zero common opponents, along with the fact that the teams we/OSU played were so different (in skill, strengths, weaknesses and tendencies), I don’t actually think stats help to ‘handicap’.
Personally, I’m going to just go with my orange tinted glasses and say we win by a minimum of two scores if we aren't at our best (we win by 8); or by as many as three scores (by 20 minimum) if we do play at our best.
GO TIGERS!!!!
