Planning to attend this game in Sept. Any suggestions on where to stay? TIA

I would highly recommend trying to get a reservation at The Staybridge Suites (502) 244-9511. It is located just off I 64 and convenient to just about everything you'd need. We used to live in Louisville and went back there 2 1/2 years ago for our 25th anniversary and stayed there. We had a great time and were well taken care of. Look at Tripadvisor for reviews...you'll find mine if you look back far enough. Good luck, I hope they're not already booked - I know they're VERY busy this is Kentucky Derby week.

It worked great because they have a free shuttle that goes to Churchill Downs and to the football stadium. You could even walk to the stadium from the hotel--very close.

Hotels in Louisville will be grossly over-priced...

Stay across the river in Indiana (New Albany, Jeffersonville, or Clarksville).

We stayed at a Fairfield Inn two years ago and the rate was in the $119 range. Seems like everything in Louisville was upwards of $200
