The positives about Cole starting

1. He knows it's his team. There's no pressure of getting benched.
2. He doesn't have to do it all by himself. He has a great defense and skill players around him.
3. He has 3 weeks to get his head right and to get the right gameplan for his skillset. And you know he's going to prepare the best he can for his last game.
We can win with Cole. We did it in a tough stretch earlier in the season. And now he has time to get ready and he knows the job is his.

in a middling bowl wit our backup QB in. Meh.
Win, lose, or draw, it's not going to be a big deal. Everyone knows we are dangerous with DW. We don't have anything left to prove this year.
I'd rather win, obviously, but I'm not going to go jumping off a bridge if we lose. I don't expect this will be a huge factor in our preseason ranking, either, as long as DW healthy for the opener.

He knew it was his team when he replaced DW earlier in the year, and had horrible results.
He had a great defense and skill players all year long, and had horrible results.
He had all spring and summer to get prepared as a starter, and still had horrible results.
I just don't understand all of these posts saying things like this when we had all season to see cole run this offense into the ground. Its not like he only played in 1 or 2 games, he played almost all year. What makes u think he will all of the sudden turn into a quarterback? He's proven all year that he is the worst qb in Clemson history. No coaching can help this guy.

Cole managed the game during our stretch without Watson. And we won. That's all we need from him against OU.

Cole didn't manage anything. Cole almost single handedly lost those games. The defense is what won those games.
0 offensive TDs vs louisvile
2 offensive TDs vs BC
1 offensive TD vs Syracuse (haha, that's pathetic)
His best game was against wake (that usually tends to be everyone's best game)
If it wasnt for the defense, we could have lost all of those games, except wake, because the offense couldn't stay on the field.

Don't forget about all of the dropped and broken up interceptions that he threw. He could easily have thrown 15-18 picks this year, which probably would have cost us some games.

call a spade a spade. He just isn't that good. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.
With Cole at QB, the only way we win this game is if our defense keeps them in single digits.

1 Shot for every interception thrown
1 Shot for every mention of struggles with Stoudt or without Watson
1 shot for any reference to the defense having to keep us in the game
This will be a win-win for me. Either he plays great and I celebrate, or we get late season Cole and I don't remember or care!

Direct snaps, wild card, a 5th stringer, whatever it takes to not lose 21 points through interceptions, bad decisions, ineptitude and feeling & being overwhelmed. Beyond that, I'm a Cole pumper but not in your category of self-denial and enabling. Go Tigers!
