Dec 21, 2020, 8:47 PM

Or sideways like your picture.

I had the older ones, 23 and 30. They are special if you know how to taste bourbon.

I used to drink the entire bottle that night, it is disrespectful to the person who gifted you if you don't.

I can promise you... nobody wants to see me after an entire bottle of this Balm. That would be more disrespectful! ??

Don’t confuse this with Pappy Van Winkle. There is several thousand dollars difference.

Pappys is impossible to buy. I couldnt buy a bottle at the distillery in Kentucky and anywhere else in the state. That Van Winkle is top of the line. Buffalo Trace is also distilled at Van. Winkles and is a tough buy too.

You are correct. It is hard to get. You just have to be at the right place at the right time. Major’s in Anderson had some 10, 12,23 and pappy family reserve earlier today next to the king Louis VIII

Sadly, it only cost $40-$50 at the distillery if you can get your hands on it. Retailers mark it way up!

OMG, that explains why I've never seen any of the bourbon drinkers that I associate with, drinking Mr Winkle!!! Wow, I couldn't imagine drinking something that taste as bad as bourbon, and paying $3K for it. It would be a stick a fork in me, bc I would be done, lol!!! ;)

That's great if that's what you like and wanted I guess. I haven't ever been that big on alcohol personally. But when ever I have had a few drinks sociably with a friend or friends, I have always drank a blended whisky, preferably, Crown Royal, but if Crown Royal wasn't available, I will have a few shots of Canadian Club.

I have tried a few of the bourbons, like Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, and I've tried Wild Turkey a couple of times after gifting a friend with a bottle, but I just couldn't ever get a taste for bourbon whisky. To me personally, and I know it's each to their own but, if I ever smelled a bourbon before I took a taste, I couldn't drink it bc it smells rotten to me, and Scotch is the worst tasting alcohol that has ever touched my tongue lol. If scotch was the only alcohol ever distilled, I would've only had one alcohol drink in my life time.

But Merry Christmas, and enjoy your Van Winkle, and never drink and drive, I would surely hate it if T-Netters were saying RIP to Touch_The_Rock79 bc you got to deep in the Winkle, and decided you needed to make a run somewhere. I just hope that all of us that will take a drink over the holidays, that we keep in our thoughts that mixing alcohol with a set of car keys, and gasoline can be a very deadly mixture, and it usually involves a innocent family that hasn't had a drop of alcohol to drink. :( Merry Christmas, enjoy Mr Winkle ;), and never mix alcohol and gasoline for your safety, and the families that will be out on the roads during these holidays!!!!
