I've heard different answers. What exactly is full-cost of

attendance besides tuition, books, room and board and meals? Seems like that's all I needed to survive when I was at Clemson. Sure I needed money for a rainy day but what is the NCAA deeming full cost of attendance besides the above?

Who bought your clothes?

Who paid for your dates, phone (calls) and paid for visits with your family?

I bet you were able to carry a part time job and earn money to pay for additional meals and clothes and such... well, football players don't have that "luxury". Also, most of the time the school was only allowed to provide them with 2 meals a day under scholarship. Have you seen the meals these guys need to maintain weight, the cost of thee meals. I think the NCAA has fixed that now to allow unlimited meals, but that is one of the things covered. There is also alot of other things that dont get covered under scholarship that regular students can do athletes cannot afford/arent allowed/dont have time for. Who paid for your laptop, supplies, etc... again, these guys usually arent allowed to have jobs...

Not really...whatever number they use for football is also the number they use for all the academic scholarship etc at the school. It is therefore also reported to the Dept of Education (because of Pellage Grants etc). You will find schools will all sit around $3-4k/year.
