So who is the surprise underclassman

Aug 2, 2017, 10:39 PM

to steel a starting job this year? I am going with Chad Smith. I think he beats out Lamar coming out of August and it will be a battle all year.

less of a surprise, but a good one. Ancrum vs Pollard at RT could also be interesting.

I think Feaster wins the starting RB job by the Louisville game.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

I've got a couple

Cornell Powell at return and wr. Another surprise player will be DJ greenlee at TE. Defensively Xavier Kelly will have a force to be reckoned with year. Mark my words. 6 plus sacks and 10 plus tackles for loss.

As far as freshmen only surprises: Tee Higgins may face a learning curve from the option offense to spread offense. Kid has amazing talent and if Cain doesn't deliver consistency I see him playing. Besides him there is one player that intrigues me the most. Travis Etienne. Kid runs a 4.3 forty at 6ft 197 lbs, but what you don't see is this kid has that other gear acceleration wise. He can change directions on the dime. Hits hard. Very hard. He's like Wayne train mixed with CJ Spiller elusiveness. He will be our future back with Feaster. It's only a matter of time

Trayvon Mullen

I think he secures one of the corner spots. I have high hopes that he will be the next shutdown corner like M Alexander.

HJ will be the starting QB by game 6. I'll just stick with that. Or is that not considered a "surprise"?

I think Powell has a chance to pass Ray-Ray. Although, that will just mean more snaps. I think Feaster will be the guy at RB buy halftime versus Auburn. I also think Higgins will pass Overton and push for more snaps as the season progresses.

It is not who wins the starting job for each position. Many of the players mentioned will have high impact on our team. They will add much needed depth that can give the starters enough rest to make them better.

I do alot better with multiple choice questions.
