Fine article on new statues at Football Complex.

Here is a link to a very good article explaining the new statue outside of Dabo World. If you have not seen it, you should go the next time you are on campus.
Clemson’s new football statue emphasizing a “Culture of Care” features former players Christian Wilkins (No. 42) and Stanton Seckinger (No. 73 though he actually wore No. 81) engaging with children modeled after the daughter of former Clemson wide receiver Henry Guess and Clay Swinney, the son of head coach Dabo Swinney.

Really impressive. This is the type of image that should come from our program above all others. Go tigers

OK, but........

Nice that our statues have some family and character based appeal. But........The whole statue crazy trend that has been growing in momentum for quite awhile is, in general, a bad idea that most often produces a tacky look. At this point it's simply a copycat move

Let's see..we now have All American, Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor, Retired Number and now we need to add 'Statue outside the Stadium' to the ever longer list of ways to acknowledge good players and coaches?
Enough is enough with the ways to honor players and coaches.

I've been to a lot of stadiums and seen too many statues to give a hoot about any of them. I certainly will not think more of Danny Ford or Deshaun Watson if we put up a statue.

least a long time) couldn't we get Seckinger's jersey number correct? Will there be a sticky note attached that says he actually wore 81?

It is based off of a photo where Joe Gore (73) was kneeling and Sechinger was standing. They dropped in CW 42 for the standing guys, and then use Sechinger as the model but gave him Joe Gore's jersey. They are trying to acknowledge both Joe and Stanton
