What would it actually take for CBB to be fired
Jan 25, 2020, 2:32 PM

I’ve been calling for his head for 5 years.... but what would take? At this point I’m not sure...
I think he’s horrible. Facts prove it... don’t tell me about beating unc and duke. I’ll point at 10 years of nothing.
What would it take? I think we honestly don’t know at this point. I want the best for our basketball program and it’s not with brownell.
He’s horrible.

I don’t think he’s horrible. Louisville’s coach obviously has a better understanding of X’s and O’s. Brads schemes have been pretty bad the first half. Clemson will never be able to recruit at that level. We will never be able to attract coaches better than Brownell. Just the way it is

A middle sized dream would be for Clemson to consistently be among the top 65 teams in college basketball. We're not there with BB after 10 years.
I think Clemson should do what's necessary to make the tournament 3 years out of every 5.
There was a time when a lot of people said Clemson football could never compete with the elite teams in the country. We're in a small state, we have a small alumni base, we are not rich. How in the world could Clemson expect to be a consistently elite football school. But we are.

Clemson should absolutely do what's necessary to make the tournament a minimum of 3 out of every 5 years.

I wish I knew the secret to getting him fired, and I would tell the world. Personally, I would have handed him his pink slip when he returned from Chapel Hill after finally beating UNC, even though he's the only coach to ever do that.
Okay -I would have fired him at least 5 years ago. Not sure what this admin is thinking with CBB. And I thought Shyatt was horrible. This coach makes Shyatt look like Dean Smith. What amazes me is that I'm certain there are actually CLEMSON donors that speak loudly with their $$$$ and actually like BBall, but apparently I am wrong about that. Otherwise, CBB would have been gone years ago.

I’ve been anti BB for years, but I’ve resigned myself that he’s going nowhere. It is what it is. I’m prepared to accept mediocre basketball under his leadership for years to come. I advise you to do the same.

At least mediocre basketball is better than what the majority of our history has been, for whatever that’s worth.

There's something in the water that the powers that be drink that make them stick with a coach waaaaay past their expiration date. Have never understood it. In FB,BB,And BB. Maybe other sports as well, but I don't follow them.
Brad is not going to be fired. Basketball is just not that big of a deal at Clemson. Never has been and never will be. We pay the sports bills w/FB. Duke UNC, Louisville, pay the sports bills with BB. ALWAYS HAVE.

I have never been in a rush to fire him, but it is now past time. If we are good with a .500 team and making the NCAA tournament once every 5 years, then by all means keep him and never give him another raise. But is we want to be a semi-regular contender in the ACC and make the NCAA tournament half the time, we need to upgrade coaches. The administration also will need to support the basketball program like they do football. We have a 9000 seat arena (which in fine with), but we need to be able to fill it up. The only way that happens is getting wins and promoting the games. I'm tired of the complacency from the team, the fans, and the administration.

He just broke the record for most wins in school history, and beat unc at Chapel hill for the first time EVER.
He's not going anywhere for awhile.

What WON'T get him fired is losing to a Top 5 team on their home court.
Our guys were totally outclassed in those first 10 minutes, and there was nothing we could do to cool them off. No Man, No Zone, No Box, No Trap would work. They were impressive.
Maybe a Coach Barnes would have had us mug them, but we try to be good neighbors nowadays.
Hopefully they won't be as much in sync at our place, but it's still gonna be tough.
