sideline watching the game.

Our National Championship winning QB (and resident GOAT) is standing there, 2 years after winning it all, watching us win another National Championship in one of the most dominating performances in history.

How the hell did we all get this lucky?!?! As a student, the pinnacle of my Clemson football experience was beating #3 FSU and taking home my piece of the goalpoast. Think about that. The pinnacle was beating the #3 team...at home.

I suffered through the Thursday night BEATDOWN at the hands of NC State. I watched Mike Vick shred us in the Gator Bowl. I watched poor Charlie Whitehurst spend an evening on his back against Texas Tech. I watched David Greene carve up our defense in the hottest game in recorded history. And I watched a 53 yard field goal sail through the uprights in Durham to seal the victory for Duke (the week after we beat #10 Miami in the Orange Bowl).



Look at us now, boys. Look at us now.

The following 20 years were painful. I went to 8-10 games a year throughout the 90's. A bad bowl game was all we could look forward to.
