I pretty much discounted UM

Nov 3, 2016, 1:30 PM

But with wins over Colo and Wisc, plus a blowout of Penn St, are they being undervalued at #3. Its a better resume than Bama.
Time will tell, but if I had to pick, I'd take Mich over Oh St and into the playoff.
Thoughts?

OSU is trash - they have struggled with almost everyone on their weak schedule - I dont see any way they beat UM.

If Michigan runs the table, beats OSU (currently ranked #6) on the road, and beats Nebraska (currently ranked #10) in the Big 10 Championship game, we will be lucky if they don't jump us in the CFP rankings. The highest ranked potential opponent left on our schedule is only ranked #19 (Virginia Tech).

scheduling their lesser opponents for the early season and just now getting to the meat of the meal it's tough to pick the better team.

Saying that Michigan is undervalued suggest they deserve a higher ranking. NO, heckmothaofchitstorm, NO.

I doubt UM will make it out of the B1G undefeated. If they do their only hope of making it to the final round of the playoff is for Bama to lose a regular season game resulting in a Clemson/Bama matchup in the first round. I do not think they can beat either of those two.

Why do we think Wis. and Neb. are good? That conference has proven over the last 3 seasons (Iowa) that the middle tier is slightly better than Div 3. If you have a pulse in that conference you will win 9 games. Just because teams are winning games against anyone not named OSU and Mich. doesn't mean they are any good. OSU beat the same team Houston did to prove "elite" and Mich hasn't played a team with pulse. We all know Bama is about to show Wis. how good the LSU win is this weekend.

OSU is in the conversation because of recruiting and Michigan has greatly improved but until either one of those teams proves they belong by beating someone relevant the B1G winner only deserves to get in as a 3 or 4 because it hasn't been proven that they are horrible yet either.
