We fans need to refrain from speculating on this kids future. Let's move forward and support him through his recovery. Do we want and need him to play? Of Course but he is out of the picture for now and who really knows how long it will be, if ever before he returns. I am sad for him and his family, they have endured cancer and all the hardship that goes with that and now his 3rd injury on the field. Let's lower our expectations and let him recover at his own pace. He has unbelievable talent on the field but he has shown he is human and deserves our patience and support regardless of the outcome. Life is bigger than sport.

assume we are talking a 12 month recovery? What options do we have? Are we really going into spring practice with one QB?

I don't know. I am very limited in my coaching abilities. I think we should go after an experienced QB from another team to fill an immediate need but from where?

This is the operative question...there is now a bonafide...

...crisis at QB coming in August. It is impossible to expect a player to come back from an ACL injury in 9 months. I know, I've heard it a thousand times that ACL rehab has advanced such that 9 months is reasonable. I still don't buy it. I've been there with the ACL tear. It is brutal. At the level these guys are playing at, 9 months is just too optimistic.

Dabo and Morris had better figure out something fast.

I heard something about Braxton Miller from OSU? What is the story here?
