Hyatt falling doesn't help overcome negative OL recruiting..

Apr 27, 2019, 3:36 PM

I was truly hoping we could produce a relatively high OL pick in Hyatt to help overcome the negative OL recruiting from the likes of UGA and other SEC schools. So much for that.

So our OL recruits will continue to hear, "Clemson doesn't produce NFL OL." I hate it, but sadly it is true.

That will be down road. We are doing fine now recruiting OL. We will get some guys drafted higher soon enough.

But in spite of this we have some super OL recruits coming in 2020 ....

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

we have officially turned the corner in OL

Recruiting. I couldn't be happier

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This just shows how it's so hard to be an OL in the NFL.....

Apr 27, 2019, 3:52 PM

the difference in the OL between college and the NFL is the biggest there is (except maybe for QB).

I don't understand this with Hyatt. He was a #### good

Apr 27, 2019, 3:56 PM

offensive lineman and never missed a game for injury. He started for two national championship wins over Bama, not to mention Fiesta, Orange and Cotton Bowl starts and wins. I think he is going to make fools of all the teams that passed on him.

Me neither but Pierschbacher of Bama also went 5th round. And he's from Bama!!!! BAMA!!!! ESPN doesnt allow that type snub for Bama.

Look at the bodys of a NFL LT and look at mitch...The difference is obvious.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Does that fall on our weight program, or on him. I mean his

Apr 28, 2019, 10:12 AM

height he can't do anything about and from the pic, I can't tell if that's an issue, but the rest, arms and chest, might be on our weight program.

Hey dood ..... ever seen a photo of Hunter Renfrow? Does he look like like Vernon Davis or TK Metcalf? Photographs don't play football .... players do.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lol. Four year starter on four time playoff, two time national champ

team where he anchored the OL of an offense that constantly imposed its will on opposing defenses. No injury issues. All-ACC, All-American. First True Frosh to start a season opener at Left Tackle since 1944. Two time winner of the ACC’s “best blocker” award. Top ten in combine bench press, top 3 in 20 yard shuttle, top 15 in cone drill.

But you have a picture of what you think an OL is supposed to look like. That is absolutely hilarious.

In the NFL, first it was Tyler Grisham, then Adam......

Apr 27, 2019, 4:01 PM

Humphries, and now the third of the "overachiever" group, Hunter Renfrow!!!!

And now we need to see who becomes the next Tiger who will become the 4th member of that
group!

My opinion of Mitch was that he wasn't big enough for the NFL liking, they do like those big wide bodied O lineman that can contain a pocket for a few seconds, and Mitch staying around 300 his entire college career, my opinion is that the NFL see's him as project, can he put on the weight and keep it up with maintaining his footwork, speed, and strength.

UGA's negative tactics don't seem to work as well when

Apr 27, 2019, 4:11 PM

they aren't packaged with car titles, land deeds and bags of cash.

The NCAA is watching them very closely this year and, so far, I haven't heard of any our expected visitors not being able to start the family car when they were planning to come see us.

It does seem to make a difference.

We have 3 ok commitments right now from some studs. Jackson Carmen is there. I think it’s starting to shift in our favor.

Hopefully the recruiting pitch of winning national championships will cancel that out
