Our summer intern sketched an amazing picture of a Tiger using only a pencil. Fantastic work.

The use of eye black ...while expected...shows a kind of gritty realism only seen in earlier Renoiresque - knock offs .
There is a kind of flagrant wailing in the use of color , and the animal's stripes have a sort of piano key effect .
Overall it's a nice effort ...but I think there's more paint than what's needed .

Real talk though. I made and impressionist drawing with colored pencil of 2 tigers' faces like the one you posted above in middle school that looks 100x better than this. If i can find a picture of it i'll post. Last time I went by there they had it on display in the school lobby and that was 5+ years after I had drawn it. Always wondered if there is a way I could get it back
