Thug Swearinger is a blight on a football team and Gruden is trying to change the culture there. When the Texans parted ways with him, the coach there basically said all of his hard hits and highlight tackles were not a substitute for being in the right place on each play.

He's as dirty a player as dirty can get and was at SCU.

one of our players, but outside of that I never heard anything about him at SCU about being dirty or a thug. Sure he talked trash and played vocally, but that’s not being a “thug” in my book.

Dirtiest player I have ever seen at USC. I remember in Michigan bowl game he launched himself at a receiver in an attempt to lay a big hit. Receiver did a spin move and sweringer went out of bounds harmlessly. Missed the tackle because he was more concerned with hurting g the other

I guess you don't remember him when he was with the Texans he took his truck, or whatever vehicle, to a custom shop and had a huge amount of work done to it. When it came time to pay up he wouldn't do it and skipped out on his debt. That is what thugs do.

Here is another reason.
