Good Night for Rubio

Mar 1, 2016, 11:10 PM

Got that first win. Cruz's path is finished. He has like 2 or 3 states left that he might beat Rubio.

Rubio now needs to force Kasich out and we need Carson to fall out.

Rubio won't even win fla***

Not really a good night

He probably should've won VA, and he didn't reach the delegate threshold in Texas. On the other hand, winning Minnesota and getting delegates in a number of states made it a not terrible night for him.

He was down big in VA until recently so I think the 3 point loss is not bad. And he dominated NOVA which bodes well as primaries move into more urban/educated states. And it was obviously crucial for him to get the monkey off his back with Minnesota.

The Alabama vote threshold was his biggest L of the night Texas hurts for sure but those delegates now go to Cruz. That's ok because Rubio's play is the brokered convention. A delegate for anyone but Trump is a delegate towards the brokered convention.

There is no such thing as a brokered convention anymore.

Trump will go in with a clear majority. If any machination takes away his nomination, there will be blood and death.

Uhhhh, yes there is. If Trump goes in with a plurality, not a majority, and fails to get above 40% of the total vote he won't be winning.

Right now Trump has only won 34% of the vote.

There are no brokers.

If Trump goes in with a clear plurality, and does not get the nom, there will be blood and death.

Well, that's wrong. And a plurality isn't a majority.

If Trump really had a majority, then there would be no point to a brokered convention. But Rubio/Cruz currently get about 50% of the vote, while Carson/Kasich are still getting around 15%. That's more than enough delegates to beat Trump.

But he really could've won VA

And not getting any delegates out of AL and TX was bad. You can't say it was a good night, even if it wasn't awful.
