Gil Brandt's top NFL safeties of all time

Jul 10, 2017, 9:14 PM

Charlie Waters #18 and Brian Dawkins #11. Would
have thought Dawkins would be top ten. He used
Pro Bowls, All-Pro, Super Bowls, and interceptions.
Guess there is no way to measure their leadership
value. Dawkins was the heart and soul of the Eagles
defense.

Cliff Harris & Charlie Waters were a great pair for Cowboys

Not surprised to see Brandt pick two of his old Dallas guys pretty high on the list. And it's well deserved.

No chance troy polamalu was better than ed reed

I'm not sure ed reed wasn't the best safety in football history given what he did at both the college and pro level.

I loved watching Ed Reed play. He saw the game at an entirely different level than everyone else...it was like a chess game where he got a 3-move peek into the future. Combine that with his crazy athleticism and...wow.

Sean Taylor is the Greatest...even though his career was cut short...Followed by Ed Reed.
