which regular season game gives you the most concern this year?

For me it's Louisville. I know we get them in our backyard but we have really struggled to beat those convicts the past 2 years. It took 5 Ints last season and a game saving goal line tackle the year before.
They seem to be the team that has figured out how to play with us.

Ga. Tech away is always difficult, but Louisville is the initial contest which concerns me the most despite being in DV. FSU will always be a battle no matter where or when.

I don't think so. Auburn won't be good and losing to a bad team is never good.

That's a tough one. Having Louisville at home will help a LOT. Going down to Tally is tough for any team, but we have THE best offense in the nation. The key is jumping out early and getting FSU away from the run game. Cook basically had two runs of substance, one a long TD, but by the time we play them, our young defense will be a little older and hopefully clicking on all cylinders as well.

And i would say we've had more trouble beating them the last 2 years considering we are 1-1 against them and 2-0 against Louisville. The only reason we didn't beat them fairly easily last year is they caught us early when DW4 was playing at about 50%.

No-brainer: FSU
Jul 19, 2016, 7:09 AM
|

They're going to be a top-10 if not top-5 team, and we have to play them on the road in a venue we are not historically successful in. Since it's so late in the season it will also have disproportional impact on who makes it into the playoffs. Clemson will be under immense pressure for that game.
After that, the one that worries me most is Georgia Tech simply because we stub our toe so often in Atlanta. I don't get it; their stadium is not that formidable. We just have a mental block about playing in their place. And how good or bad GT is from year to year seems impossible to predict.
Louisville will be a tough game but I am not what one would call "concerned" about it.

The ACC is foolish to schedule that game late in the season. Why not give both teams a chance to recover in the polls?
Also, we seem to fare better when we get them early. FSU always gets better as the year goes on.

Auburn for sure. It's our first game of the season on the road against a good team with a young Tiger D. If the Tiger O comes out rusty and our D not clicking yet, well it could be a long night. We beat Auburn which I'm pretty sure we will, the rest of the season except FSU will be a cakewalk.

At gt on a short week with a load of new faces on defense. The talent of the new faces is nice but that is an assignment game, experience pays in that one. We haven't won in Atlanta in a long time despite having superior teams in many cases.

FSU, Louisville, Auburn, Ga. Tech, and then Pitt.
Jul 19, 2016, 1:42 PM
|
|
In that order, with FSU being the most concerning. Ga. Tech is only on the list because of Johnson's offense, it's Thursday night in Atlanta when and where strange things happen, and Clemson has not won in Atlanta since 2003. Pitt is only so-so concerning. Not concerned about the rest as long as Watson stays healthy.
But if you must know, the remaining order is BC, NC State, SC, Syracuse, Wake, Troy, and finally SC State.

at the time we play them, so:
First: Awbarn on the Plains Second: Fighting Paulies in Atlanta on a Thursday Night Third: (Assuming we made it through the first two above) FSU in Tallahassee, will be tough as answering live roll call at a UNC class.

Auburn, easily.
It's the tone-setting game for the season against a very talented but underrated team in their back yard with 85,000 of their fans screaming against us.
This entire offseason, due to the "impressive" loss in the NC, has been nonstop fellatio for Clemson, Dabo & Deshaun Watson and I'm afraid they're going to have let it get to their heads. If we come out, hair on fire and play to our capabilities, I'll feel great...however, I'm still afraid to see a complacent Clemson team--one that buys into the hype. I've seen it far too many times in the past to not worry about it now.

If we had anyone other than DW4 under center, I would worry about complacency. But, he ALWAYS seems to have his eye on the prize, short and long term.

Very true. Having Watson at QB gives me confidence, and I do believe that Dabo has taken some big steps in not letting things get to his head. I do believe that during 2011-2013, he sometimes had a tendency to let overwhelming praise cloud his judgement, but I think the FSU Massacre of 2013 did a lot to curb that.
Unfortunately for me, the Tommy Bowden years are tattooed on my brain, so I'm going to be nervous no matter what.
