How to keep your cable cost down

1- find out what they are offering new customers
2- call to cancel and give 2-3 weeks notice
3- they will try to talk you out if it. Demand nothing short of the same $ they are offering new customers. Stick to your guns.
4-they will probably go ahead and cancel but in a few days you will get a letter or call offering the new customer rate if you stay
5-you can always change your mind if they don't offer you the new rate
I have done this 3 times and it has shears worked.
One problem with cutting the cord is that more and more ISPs are requiring a TV package otherwise they limit your Internet usage.

My wife purchased us the amazon fire stick, and we are thinking about only purchasing very basic cable and internet from Time Warner cable. Being new to the modern day gadgets, should we purchase another fire stick just in case this one goes out. I would hate myself if I missed a Clemson FB game bc I'm sick of paying TWC/Spectrum $200 a month. We haven't used the fire stick for regular TV yet, only use so far is with all the movies, even the ones that are still in the theater. Being that you seem to already know the workings of these new TV gadgets, what do you think, seriously!!!

We returned the cable box and cancelled Time Warner last year. Switched to sling/Netflix/Amazon, but soon discovered we still had free cable coming into the house.
This includes ESPN. We are loving life and made college football season easy.

plugged the coaxial cable into the wall, and I had two years of free cable. It was awesome.

The same thing w/ me two weeks ago. Cut back to internet only - avg. 49mbps / peak @ 100.
Plugged in the coaxial & have +/-60 channels & even get the major networks in HD.

I subscribe to pretty much every single one of the cord cutting option to the tune of 600$ a month, just to thumb my nose at the cable companies.
