For our Lunge bass player................

Mar 28, 2021, 10:57 AM

RH Tig

Of course I've never heard of her. I just ran across this.

Quincy Jones once called Carol "the greatest bass player I ever heard" and few musicians have been as prolific. From "Pet Sounds" to "La Bamba" to backing Nancy Sinatra, Kaye played on an estimated 10,000 recording sessions. Alongside her trusty Fender precision bass, Carol's legacy in pop music and film is as innovative as it is vast.

There are three players that I think you have to study

Mar 28, 2021, 10:52 PM

to know how the bass fits in a song...Carol Kaye, James Jamerson that played on the vast majority of the great Motown classics, and David Hood from Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals. There are flashier players, but those three are the foundation of the instrument. I guarantee you the best players will name at least one, if not all three, as influences.

Guitar Center is specifically for guitars. If you want a bass, you have to go to Bass Pro Shops.
