For everyone saying the ACC sucking doesn't matter

It basically guarantees we have to win out to make the playoffs. We cant afford a Pitt/Cuse type loss of the past and think we are still automatic. Conference perception DOES matter.

Agreed! The way the ACC looks right now a loss would be a huge obstacle to overcome depending on what other one-loss teams we are going against for the playoffs

I don’t know why everybody is crying about the ACC. If Pitt beats Penn St. that would vault both them and Virginia into the playoff discussion no?
That’s what happens when an SEC team beats a highly ranked team from another conference.

I don't understand people who pull against the ACC when playing teams out of conference. That makes no sense. Every ACC loss out of conference makes us look worse by comparison. Idiocy

us. We only control Clemson and should not give two ##### about what anyone else does. I assure you our coaching staff couldn't care less about what anyone else does.

I agree that conference perceptions are certainly a thing, but championship level teams are sized up by the CFP committee using other metrics. Conference perceptions might matter more if you’re gunning for lower bowl invites, but not for Clemson. If you’re a juggernaut, it’s different. The CFP wants the four “best teams.” Great example was 2-loss Bama getting in because of the “eye test” or whatever. The fact is Clemson is premier, and the CFP is beholden to teams as individual entities rather than members of a particular conference...
It’s good to be the king. Honestly, I would prefer a more objective process for CFP (conf champs only, etc.), but it is what it is for now. We win, we’re in.
