Only us; and very dependent on the loss.

If that team is Clemson and we look good in all other games.

At this point, I assume we get the benefit of the doubt as Alabama did a few years back when they didn't win their conference championship.

But Bama is in the mighty SEC, where every game is tough!

If we were to lose to say, TAM, the media would say we lost to the only good team on your schedule! If Bama loses to TAM, since they play so many other great SEC teams, they would still easily get in, if that's their only loss.

It all depends on what the other teams do. Is a one-loss OK team that loses to TX (or vice versa) better than a one-loss Clemson team that loses to Syracuse? Same between Ohio State and MI or Georgia and Alabama. Also, it can depend on when you lose. Losing early to SYR might not be as bad as losing to Miami in the conference championship.
Let's just hope that in the end, it is a moot point because we don't lose at all.

When Clemson loss that close one to Pittsburgh in 2016, a bunch of other teams also lost, so the Tigers were not hurt too badly. I suppose it depends on who we lose to, by how much and how the other teams do.

I think it would depend on whether or not they have SEC speed. If so they could lose two and still get in.

A complicated answer. If the 1 loss ACC Champ is us, I think

we have enough cred to certainly be in. If the 1 loss ACC Champ is NOT us, and that 1 loss was TO us, it means that we have somehow probably lost two games and are out of it. This would be most disturbing, of course. Given the low opinion of ACC conference strength going into the season, hard to predict what the narrative would be at that point. It is possible the ACC Champ could get left out in favor of a similar 1 loss Pac-12 Champ, since they have missed the playoffs in recent times. (More likely in that scenario, the pundits would start beating the drums for getting two SEC teams in. I honestly do not know why this is always the case, but I suspect there are 401K's somewhere that get some significant extra contributions if two SEC teams make the playoffs, if you know what I mean.)
