Free Money

Apr 8, 2021, 8:59 AM

Kids applied for and received $250 "grant" from the CURE program - Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act - through their university. Got the deposit within days of them hitting enter on the online application. Grant = free money.

This is in addition to the $1800 each they are getting since I am not claiming them on federal taxes for last year. They'll get this year's stimi also. This will all go into their Vanguard accounts that have done very well (who's hasn't?) in the last couple years...

No, did not have to have the FAFSA.

They should have done one - could have gotten up to $1200. They are not dependents, so they will rate below poverty level and could have probably gotten a lot more...
