Did we lose out on a RB commit and end up offering ETN or

Dec 16, 2020, 11:43 AM

did he just present himself at the end after LSU not offering him? I seem to remember losing out on a prospect and we had to scramble but i may be confusing him with someone else. If we did lose out on someone and ended up opting to ETN, i would love to know who that prospect was. And ended up with the Alltime Rushing leader in the ACC.Thats a pretty good fall back in any case.

Seems like he was a last minute addition, maybe someone will answer for us

We had another running back committed from the Memphis area whose high school had some very questionable practices when it came to athletes' grades.

We backed off of him and opened up to search for a replacement.

We landed on ETN after getting tipped off by an Bama coach who didn't want him at LSU.

He could not make it thru HS - bad grades. Later he went to Texas A&M and was a flop there. Good miss.

This is not accurate.

The problems were not related to his grades specifically but an overall issue with his high school falsifying grades to get athletes into school.

Before the issue was sorted out we moved on because we didn't want to fight through it and him not be eligible in the end.

It mostly affects college basketball but apparently Memphis as a whole has the reputation for being a pretty sketchy recruiting area.

He was in fact eligible and was able to sign with his class to go to UCF.

This is my understanding too....

The school was at fault and jeopardized his chance to play football in college. He decommited not long after the problems with the high school were exposed. Memphis does not have a good reputation when it comes to this type of activity.

Can’t remember his name but was from Memphis, I think. Had academic issues that may not have been totally his fault. Elliott tried to help him find a spot. Didn’t he end up at ATM?

Cordarrian Richardson

As I recall, we didn't lose him as much as backed-off of him.

He originally committed to Maryland.

Ended-up signing with UCF.

He played at UCF in 2017.

Transferred to Texas A&M after the 2017 season.

Sat out the 2018 season.

Played at A&M in 2019

In 2020 he played sparingly in a back-up sole. He had fallen behind Isaiah Spiller on the depth chart and was rumored to be entering the transfer portal again in an effort to find more playing time elsewhere.

LSU wanted ETN bad at the end, but they had slow played him prior, as they recruited higher rated backs. ETN wanted Clemson the whole time and was hoping we would offer.

Clemson was also recruiting Zamir White, who went to UGA, pretty heavily that year.

No, ETN was 2017, Zamir White was 2018.

Stats for Etienne vs Richardson are astronomical in careers
