Chad Morris to Texas?
Sep 8, 2013, 9:39 PM

With the "Big Mack" Brown officially on the hot seat at Texas, what are the odds that Coach Morris bolts after this season? If the Texas gig opens up, do you think he's gone? I would say that's probably his ideal job, being a TX HS legend, and especially since Tajh is a senior, and if Clemson were to win a NC it would just about be a no-brainer since he would have little unfinished business here.

They would put him on the list but you let FREEZE beat...

Texas this Saturday and he would be their first pick. He has HC experience at two different schools and would have turned Ole Miss Around quick. Ole Miss may beat Texas and Bama in same season so this could happen.
I say Texas goes 8-4 and fires Mack and hires Hugh Freeze!
Morris will not go to Ole Miss to replace freeze either!

Not a chance a program like Texas hires a coach with no HC experience

OK, a little history here. Muschamp was the coach in waiting (no head coaching experience), but Mack stayed too long and Will went to Florida.

in's and out's of the job, while not being the actual hc. quite unlike going from an oc position at one school to the hc position at arguably one of the most well-known, deepest-pocketed,tradition-laden cfb teams in the country - in the top-5, without an argument. just a tad bit of a difference there, i think.

understand, Texas has VERY deep pockets and can afford a proven head coach. Besides, it sounds like they're having defensive issues. They may seek a defensive minded HC.

Why in the world would you worry about something that might not ever happen? Why can't we just enjoy a # 3 ranking and what might be a very good year? Lighten up and enjoy life! Btw, being new to T-Net and making a post like this will lead many to think you're trolling.

won't happen.
Texas would hire a proven HC and pay the $$$$$$
Possibly try to hire Chip Kelly back from the pros.

My friend, you seem to be forgetting something. Chad has a wife and family. He has children who are still in high school. He has said on multiple occasions that not only would the offer have to be one he couldn't pass up, but that he would prefer his children to graduate high school first because he doesn't like the idea of just uprooting his family and leaving everything behind.
Not to mention, he was interviewed about this. Here's a snipped of his response to those who seem to think he's looking for an opportunity to leave: http://sportstalksc.com/index.php/2012/12/15/chad-morris-is-in-no-hurry-to-leave-clemson-audio/

yeah...even with the reality of that approaching, I'm pretty sure Texas isn't the position for him right now.

don't put any stock into that, so let me just put that out there. But, if the Texas job was OPEN...and they asked Morris if he wanted it, and he didn't take it... then hes not as smart as I thought he was...thank U & good day #21

IF the folks in Austin came calling for Coach Morris, I'd say thank you Coach for an awesome three years and best of luck in Austin. I hope nobody comes calling for selfish reasons, but he's too good not to get a head gig somewhere soon.

don't flatter ourselves...TX will not go after Morris or Dabo. They can get anyone they want so I think they will go after Saben with $10M. He can't do anything else at Bama...anything short of a National Title is a disappointment. He could be the only coach to win titles at 3 different schools. ANd no, Bama will not go after Dabo or Morris either.

Chad is not going to coach at Texas. They may try to get Muschamp back or hire someone else.
Chad's ultimate destination is Texas A&M, whenever Kevin Sumlin decides to go the the NFL. It might be this year, but I doubt it based on the possible job openings there.

I think It would be better if Dabo went to Texas with 5 years of head coaching and a NC. Then we hire Chad to be HC at Clemson!
