It appears that Patagonia has stopped production of their 5" standup short. This has been my go to short since college, so I have been wearing them for about 10 years now. I have three pair right now that are in decent shape, but only fit into two of them. I will need to go ahead and lose some weight so the third pair can get into the rotation.
Today, I bought a pair of Duck Head 7" Gold School Chino shorts from Great Outdoor Provision. They fit closer to a 6" leg, but I can get them hemmed up a pinch so the hawg hangs out.

But they appear to have dropped almost every pair of patagonia shorts outside of the 7" standups, baggies, or board shorts. The only thing that rubs me wrong about these are the logo as I am looking for a nice pair of khaki shorts for work. The logo throws these into a more casual sphere.

Had bad luck with hemp in the past. There's not much margin for error if I buy a 36. I'm actually probably closer to a 37 (if that was a thing) because fat.
Can I cold wash and dry and not shrink? Or do you not dry?

Let me also say that I have 4 pair and all are 34, but one pair is like a 36, easy. So I just heat dry them more.
I air dry all my hemp shirts and shorts. They hold up better and they keep form better.
Good gosh I am as gay as they come.

conscious about the necks on my shirts. So I dry everything to shrink it up.
I don’t man it’s weird and it’s my problem. My wife is still baffled after 13 years. But it’s me and how I feel.

for srs - they came out w/ a new version and they have a button. i bought 5 pair in case they stopped production again like they did on the 2s and bout gave me a heart attack.

Whatever you do, don’t buy a pair of Lululemon or Birddog shorts. Once you experience the life altering comfort of stretchy lightweight shorts w a built in liner that you can do anything from swim to play golf in, you can’t go back.

Its a little pricey--more so than Aftco, but it lasts a long time and the hoodies and shirts are more comfortable IMO.
