Major conference teams with longer tournament droughts than us

Mar 13, 2017, 3:54 PM

Last time we made it was 2011

ACC:
Georgia Tech, 2010
Boston College, 2009

Big 12:
TCU, 1998

Big East:
DePaul, 2004

Big Ten:
Penn State, 2011 (tied with us)
Rutgers, 1991

PAC 12:
Washington, 2011 (tie)
Washington State, 2008

SEC:
Mississippi State, 2009
Auburn, 2003

Note: only 2 teams in the Atlantic 10 have a longer drought than us (Fordham and Duquesne)
Only 2 mountain west teams have a longer drought (Air Force, San Jose State)

What's NAT's new name? I didn't realize he assumed a new identity. Compared to some trolls on here he wasn't too bad. Lol ?

Not really a good comparison. If Clemson played in the Atlantic Ten or other conference they would have a better record. Many of you do not buy into the FACT that the ACC is the best in college basketball and has been for years. But it is and has been for a long, long time

You don't think our athletic budget would be much

Mar 13, 2017, 4:11 PM

Smaller if we were in the Atlantic 10? Those schools don't work with as many resources

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

as I have documented in another thread, our schedule dwarfs

South Carolina's,

and if we were in the SEC we'd be at least a #7 seed.

Wow! That is one short list.***

Did any of those teams keep a coach for more

than 6 seasons without a trip to The Dance? I know GT fired Gregory in his 5th season after he led them to the NIT Quarter Finals, finishing 21-15, which was his first post season appearance there. BC fired Donahue after 4 seasons.

Washington still has Romar

He's been at UW for like 12 years. He's brought them to the sweet 16 before. And still recruits bigtime recruits. But other than that I don't think so

So there's one, but he has taken them to the

doesn't half of TNET have us penciled in for rehiring OP?

think you have to count the 4 remaining 'never' and others

original Div 1 (1939) schools that have never made it:

Army
Citadel
William & Mary
St. Francis (NY)

and a number of smaller schools that have joined... this post says 31 that have been in more than 10 years but have never made it:
