haha should I? on your own graph Oregon is green or teal or whatever color that is. people moving to a Blue states *clutches pearls
I know California quite well and lived in 2 cities there before myself. People move in and out all the time, for various reasons, to become a movie star, for jobs (.com, and more recent tech boom), for sun. beaches, and whatever. People also move out for various reasons. for example when the .com bust happened I know that lots of folks lost a fortune, and prices had gone so high things were just not affordable. then the mass move in happened. Mayer Ed Lee made gave tax cuts to business to come to SF. Now many people can work remotely (even in another state) for whatever company they are part of. I know several people that have moved away, and I know many that have moved there.
The link I provided says it went up from 16% to 18%, thats hardly a mass exodus. And when Covid is over (coz Cali had strict covid rules) it will again be people moving in

I grew up in NC , lived the past 33 years in SC. NC was great until it was invaded by liberals.

I’ve heard it said “If you’re 20 and Republican you have no heart. If you’re 40 and democrat you have no brain”. Some people grow out of liberal ideas when they start a business, pay taxes, live in the adult world, etc.

ur right its not that difficult. And I never said people have not moved form California, I clearly said above that people do, but they always have. I would also agree that less people are moving to Cali, again stated in my link. I think perhaps we are arguing severity...I say its not a mass exodus or people in droves, while agree that 2% is indeed more people.
btw in a state with 40+ million people "several hundred thousand" aint that much

Massive increases in Calif of illegal aliens

When I left Calif in 1980 it was 67% white. Today it is 36% white or almost half. A lot of people are leaving but a lot of people come there every day too. Demographics are changing.

For total migration.

With New York and Illinois, two other very populous states, nipping at their heels.
For net migration per 1,000 residents (which is the real factor to look at), Cali isn't last. Seven states are behind them. It's still not good; people are still leaving (can't blame them with the taxes and cost). But Oregon and Washington are doing quite well.

Based on your two links.
In the UHaul one (LOL), it says Oregon is #3. That's West Coast, last I checked.
In your Wikipedia one, California had the most total (because it has the most people) but a net of -5.15 per 1,000 residents. Oregon and Washington had positive net migration.
So, two of the West Coast states are increasing, and Cali isn't decreasing as much compared to others. Chances are good Cali folks are migrating north.
Your links helped make his case.

but Socal will be out of natural sources of water in our lifetimes. I feel sorry for people strapped to 40 year mortgages only to see their homes go up in flames.

Beaches and good weather can only hold out so long. LA has been a chit hole for a long time. Soon San Fran will be the same. Let's sell it to Mexico and be done with it.
