Another stupid decision by the Cox.....

is to to agree to move their game this Saturday with LSU to Baton Rouge. They were already going to get pounded in Columbia by LSU - now they'll get killed by LSU.
Since W-B is flooded, this is a game that should have been completely cancelled.

Financially that would've been a worse decision by far

PLaying the game, getting paid to do so (though a huge cut of the gate I'd imagine), and giving the folks of Columbia something to watch (even if on TV) is a good move.

WB is not flooded, it was done so that police and other emergency personnel already stretched thin could continue to do more important work. How would you feel if you had lost your home and your family was forced to give up their hotel room because of a football game. The coots ticket sells for the game was over $3,000,000, this will enable them to cut their financial losses as well. Seems to me that they made exactly the right decision.

What you said about personnel is true. It is also true that the stadium was flooded.

at both and decided this. short notice logistics were probably easier w this and I suspect LSU is sharing a good deal more than the custory revenue on this one but I am just guessing

They just re-seeded, they don't want a bunch of kids messing up the lawn.

Wouldn't it cost a huge fee to get either CLT or ATL stadium

At least the facilities in Columbia and Baton Rouge are owned by the schools.
Bigger question is ... if we didn't host Ga Tech this weekend, would we have offered up DV for the game??? I guess we'll never know for sure.
East Carolina played Miami in Carter Finley stadium at NC State the week after Hurricane Floyd.

being a state school, there would have been pressure to

and in all honesty, I would have been for it.
And I would have gone to the game. Would have been really unique to watch LSU-SCAR play in Clemson.
