Another climbing film about Alex Honnold, the star of Free Solo

Just wanted to share another fantastic film. It's Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell (another legend in the world of rock climbing) making the first ever ascent of the Fitz Traverse in Patagonia.

Tommy Caldwell is another fascinating person. He's been held captive by rebels while climbing in Kyrgyzstan (he saved three other climbers and himself by pushing one of his captors off a cliff), and he lost his left index finger in a table saw accident the next year when he was 22. The guy has been the first to conquer some of the hardest climbs in the world.

Tommy Caldwell doesn't free solo. He has safety gear

He just does some of the hardest climbs in the world.

Now, chopping your finger off with a table saw when you're a professional climber is dumb. But, he's overcome it to accomplish feats never even dreamed of by most professional rock climbers.
