Friday Funny it has already begun!

Jan 4, 2019, 8:29 AM

Had a coot friend yesterday watching the high school all star game on his I-phone. He was telling me how great Zach Pickens was playing how big he was and how the announcers compared him to Christian Wilkins yada yada yada, how he would probably be in the back field running the ball as well. The optimism and delusion begins as soon as there last snap of the season occurs which is and will always be pre-new year. Coming off a fat doughnut to mighty Virginia and staring down the barrel of a 4 or 5 win season next year he is telling me how great the players are.

*Their* last snap of the season. Coots are finished and with that sweet goose egg against an ACC team.

Now they are back to pre-season national champs.

Pickens will probably enjoy his three years at u5c....

provided that winning and bowl games aren't really all that important to him.

u5c may not have a single winning season over the next three years.

That's what happens when you let your mother make life decisions for you.

Always a "savior" in Columbia - a coach, a player etc. That

is really the essence of their problem as a program, they make every team about one person - looking for the quick fix.

They view the game incorrectly - how many times have you been told by them over the past several years of the Clemson run, "Well (insert star Clemson player name) is leaving and Clemson will come crashing back to reality without him, he is the only reason you are winning."

A winning program is built from the student managers all the way to the President and everyone in between marching to the same drummer and doing their part.

To be fair, pickens is probably their best recruit since

clowny. I can see why they are excited to get him, but let's not kid ourselves they need a whole lot more like him to win any games next year.
