Penn state has the first opportunity to lose to Minnesota. I doubt they will but that would be something.
Then an obvious loss coming out of the LSU Alabama game. My prediction is LSU loses. I’ve just not been impressed with their defense, but we shall see.
Barring a loss we are at minimum number four next week.

Alabama Penn State and Ohio State will lose. Chaos ensues. Both 1 loss OSU and Bammy are outsiders and not conference champs. Espn vanishes.

Consider this. The only people who want Clemson to repeat as National Champs are Clemson people. On the committee, the ACC reps, the SEC reps, and the Big 10 reps all hate us because we whipped their best. The easiest way to keep us from repeating is to not let us in the playoffs. They have the 4 teams they want. Barring a slip up loss by one of them, any loss from playing each other will just shuffle the order.

My guess is Alabama wins Saturday but loses the following week to Auburn. I don’t care really because we have a very good shot to beat them all!

thrown out spoilers that if Bama loses a close game without Tua, it will not hurt them in the rankings. So, you could very easily see at worst (from their perspective) a flip with them and Penn State after this weekend, with us still on the outside looking in. Now, I do believe that ultimately, Penn State is weak enough to lose a game, OR TWO, which SHOULD allow us to get into the 4th slot. IF, AND ONLY IF, we continue to take care of OUR business in a big way. If we have another UNC type game, even if we win it, it will skewer our chances. That is just the perception of reality this year, be it right or wrong. It is what we better know that we have to live with.
