Tolerance and understanding

Jan 15, 2020, 6:53 PM

I tried to post earlier, but don’t think it went through.

I am a Clemson grad and lived several years in Jackson Mississippi after graduation. My wife and I made many trips to New Orleans when family visited us and wanted to see the Big Easy.

Our car was broken into on one of our solo trips and they even stole my wife’s birth control pills from our trunk. I can only hope a native female took them. Having said that, we had a lot of good meals on many visits including when Bama thumped us and this game. I’ve had some awesome fishing trips in Louisiana too.

We had a nice visit arriving Friday and leaving Tuesday. Other than a few lame Tiger Bait chants, we had no issues with the fans.

However, I believe the many Clemson fans reporting on some really bad fans. I base this on there is no reason not to believe them and the fact that I had multiple 60 ish year old LSU fans ask me if we were being treated well.

Additionally, I had a colleague who is from Louisiana and is an LSU grad, who did not attend the game ask as well stating, “our fans can be pretty rowdy.”

I then saw an article on the Bleacher Report listing LSU fans as the #1 worst college football fans.

This got me to thinking more about this.

I think we as Clemson fans need to be more tolerant.

If you were subjected to being fed a diet of nutria, alligator, gar, and bald eagle despite heavy seasoning, you might well be less than charitable towards outsiders.

If you were forced to obtain your drinking water from America’s commode, the mighty Mississippi, you too might potentially suffer frontal lobe damage leading to aggressive and impulsive behavior.

If you had a state legislator and former US Senate candidate named David Duke, who wrote a book entitled Finderskeepers with instructions on proper oral sex technique, you too might be enamored with the Neck song chant.

Hats off to the LSU football team. They flat out beat us. We didn’t play our A game, but it is questionable whether that still would have been enough.

Let’s flush this one! When LSU comes to Clemson in a few years, kill them with kindness.

Seriously, it could be the drinking water issue. Texas A&M is not far away from LSU and their fans are absolutely classy.

The kindness will last until the first one steps out of their vehicle wearing one of their vulgar t-shirts and opens his/her mouth. ??

EXACTLY the culture Dabo works so hard for.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Dabo would be so understanding when they yell at Kathleen to suck their Tiger D, B.

AGREED!

Dabo is a "turn the other cheek" kind of guy, not a "be a doormat and let people run over you" kind of guy, ask Chad Kelly. But I do appreciate the sarcastic, humorous take on the situation by rons1.
